What are 3 ways you stay healthy with a busy schedule?

Planning ahead of time. I prep everything I need for the next day the night before, so it’s ready to grab when I leave the house the next day.

I look up restaurants, coffee shops, etc. close to work that offer healthy options.

I say no! If I’m overwhelmed, running on little sleep, in general just not feeling like myself, I slow things down by saying no to plans. Those affected by your verbal “No” should understand the value in putting your health first.

If you could only eat one cuisine for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Anything healthy and made with love! I know that’s broad but fresh ingredients made by someone excited to share a meal with you is the best thing on planet earth.

What’s your favorite healthy snack?

I honestly don’t have just one favorite snack! My fridge is ever changing due to items being in season and how much it costs.

Can you share something about yourself with us we may not know?

I used to be a photographer full-time, owning my own business. It was an awesome career and a creative outlet I still love but I felt that feeling you get when you force yourself to leave the house to go to the gym. Once it felt like a chore I knew it was time to explore other options. And I’m glad I did!

Do you have a favorite inspirational podcast or book?

“The Happiness Project” had the biggest impact on me than any other book I’ve ever read. Otherwise my podcasts change on a weekly basis – anything from sustainability, fitness, business, spirituality, etc.

What’s your all-time favorite song to work out to?

The song itself is of no importance to me, I need a good beat IF I’m even listening to music at all. I get in a zone when working out and everything around me becomes quiet.

Tell us how you first got interested in health and wellness.

It all started when I tore my ACL. In was during my recovery, I discovered my desire to ‘know it all’ and have a clear understanding of the body and how to move intentionally.

What is your spirit animal and why?

My spirit animal is a snake.

Snakes are a symbol of life, change, and longevity. Snakes symbolize healing and transformation and improving the overall quality of living. Snakes shed their skin as they grow, getting rid of the old and moving into the new, this is when a metamorphosis can take place – they re-emerge whole. Cast away illusions, unhealthy beliefs, and unreasonable expectations. The only way to wholeness is by walking in truth and living each moment to its fullness. Snakes are my least favorite animal but spiritually we are one of the same.
