INTERVIEW WITH ANNA

What are 3 ways you stay healthy with a busy schedule?

I cook healthy meals in large batches, so my family of four can have dinner for two or three nights without me having to make a new meal every night. I workout for 30 minutes three to five times a week in my garage gym or walk in my neighborhood. I try to take some time in the evenings to turn off social media and be present to sit with my thoughts, to help minimize stress eating.

If you could only eat one cuisine for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Raw salmon sushi, because it’s incredibly delicious and you get omega-3s from the fish.

What’s your favorite healthy snack?

Apple nachos- 1 sliced apple, organic peanut butter, chocolate chips, and cinnamon.

Can you share something about yourself with us we may not know?

I love to dance fast-paced dances like hip hop and shuffle for my workouts sometimes.

Tell us how you first got interested in health and wellness.

Grew up with an interest in it. My mom read, “Sugar Blues” when I was a baby and she has a passion for healthy eating that she passed to me. I also grew up watching family members go on diet after diet only to regain the weight they would lose right back and I wanted to be able to help people in this area. Plus seeing the obesity rates in our nation and now seeing how some children are even obese, just made me want to dive into a job where I could impact our nation and fight the obesity epidemic.

What is your spirit animal and why?

The Hawk. Because I have eyes like a hawk. My family is always losing things and no matter what, I can always find them.
