INTERVIEW WITH CANDICE

What are three ways you stay healthy with a busy schedule?

I try to food prep weekly to keep on track with food this keeps me on track and not grabbing junk. I schedule my workouts depending on my day, I get sleep and prioritize it each night.

If you could only eat one cuisine for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Mexican! I love Mexican food especially fajitas. I have always loved it

What’s your favorite healthy snack?

My favorite healthy snack is grain free crackers or raw veggies with either guacamole or hummus (chili garlic flavor is my favorite!)

Can you share something about yourself with us we may not know?

I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 2007. I have used that disease to push me into training and helping others as a result.

Do you have a favorite inspirational podcast or book?

My favorite book is In the Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day. Favorite podcast is Absolutely Not podcast by Heather McMahon, not exactly inspirational but she is hilarious and always makes my day better after listening to it.

What’s your all time favorite song to work out to?

Thats tough, I like so much music. Really my favorite though is any (for the most part) 90s/2000s hip hop.

Tell us how you first got interested in health and wellness.

I got interested after being diagnosed with RA in college. I worked out but not with intention, My doctor urged me to and it made me see positive changes in myself in different ways. That made me want to do the same with others. I left my corporate job and here I am.

What is your spirit animal and why?

Spirit animal…… well its very ironic being a trainer but I am obsessed with sloths. Not that I think I resemble their lifestyle but I am OBSESSED and have been since second grade.
