INTERVIEW WITH DARCIE
How do you stay healthy with a busy schedule?
I lean into exercise “snacks” throughout the day (small bursts of movement that add up), keep prepped meals/snacks that are nutrient dense and diverse ready to grab when things get chaotic, and prioritize morning sunlight-paired with a few quiet moments for meditation.
If you could eat one cuisine for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
Mexican, hands down. Tacos, bowls, chips, salsa, repeat-I could eat it every day and never get bored (and honestly… I kind of already do).
What’s your favorite healthy snack?
Good Culture cottage cheese (has to be that brand!) with sliced peppers.
Can you share something about yourself with us we may not know?
I’m a huge football fan. I grew up in a small town in Nebraska, and there wasn’t much to do on the weekends besides cheer for the Huskers and the Chiefs. It’s still in my blood-GBR and how ‘bout those CHIEFS!
Do you have a favorite inspirational podcast or book?
I always come back to The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy. Small choices really do add up, and this book reminds me that consistency is everything.
What’s your all time favorite song to work out to?
Comedown by Bush.
Tell us how you first go interested in health and wellness.
I’ve been drawn to movement for as long as I can remember. I grew up dancing and running track, and I was lucky enough to do both collegiately. In high school, I chose weight training as an elective and quickly realized how much it helped me on the track. That’s where my love for strength training started.
Over time, I kept getting more curious about how everything we do; how we eat, rest, manage stress-affects how we feel and move. Movement has always been my anchor. Whether it’s a solid lift, a long run, or a slow Sunday yoga session, I truly love it all. That joy is what pulled me into the wellness space and keeps me passionate about helping others find what moves them.
What is your spirit animal and why?
The hummingbird-full of energy, always in motion. It’s small but mighty, and it reminds me to keep showing up with purpose.
