With over 20000 training hours, it’s easy to say that Kirk (CPT, PES, CGFI) has a passion for coaching and helping others realize their true potential in and out of the gym. Kirk has professional experience with multiple avenues in the fitness industry including specialized 1 on 1 training, small group training, online coaching, instructing Spin, Yoga, HIIT and many other group fitness classes. He has worked with clients ranging from Division 1 athletes to retired fitness enthusiasts just looking to stay healthy. His specialties include muscle building, strength building, weight loss/leaning out and energy system development. As an ex competitive triathlete, he has also helped coach many clients through their first 5k/10k/half marathon and several triathlons. Kirk believes in a challenging, but fun approach to fitness and that learning to stay consistent and positive is key.

What are three ways you stay healthy with a busy schedule?

I make sure to plan my days around my workouts. It’s my favorite thing to do, so it is very important to me. I also make sure to meal prep for busy days so I can keep my nutrition on track.

If you could eat one cuisine for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Definitely pizza. I LOVE pizza. Since there are so many different styles and topping/sauce combinations, I feel like it would be hard to get tired of it.

What’s your favorite healthy snack?

My favorite healthy snack is definitely fruit. Particularly bananas, pineapple, pears, and apples!

Can you share something about yourself with us we may not know?

I was a professional musician before I got into the fitness industry. I have been playing the drums for 18 years.

Do you have a favorite inspirational podcast or book?

Some of my favorite inspirational books are UnF**k Yourself, The Champions Mind, and the David Goggins Autobiography. All of them are great for different reasons abd have helped me with perspective many times.

What’s your all time favorite song to work out to?

Picking one favorite song to work out to is tough. I have so many! And it depends on my mood. It’s usually a mix of metal, Hip-Hop, EDM and 90s punk (like Blink-182).

Tell us how you first got interested in health and wellness.

I first became interested in Health and Wellness as a career when I was 22-23 years old. After falling into an unhealthy lifestyle while in the music industry, I decided to make a change and get back to where my body/ability was as an athlete. I found a group fitness facility and was enthralled with how people were there trying to better themselves and others. I soon decided that I wanted to help others as well. So, I made a huge lifestyle change and dove head first into fitness and haven’t looked back since!

What is your spirit animal and why?

I have never thought about this before, to be honest. But, if I had to choose, I would say a wolf. I thrive in a “pack” setting and enjoy being a leader.
