INTERVIEW WITH PRATHNA

What are 3 ways you stay healthy with a busy schedule?

  1. Food prep – it’s a game changer!
  2. A well stocked pantry
  3. Always having a refillable water bottle with me!

If you could only eat one cuisine for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Indian! Specifically, Gujarati food. It’s the food I grew up on, crave and continue to eat on a regular basis. Its the most comforting and nourishing food for me.

What’s your favorite healthy snack?

Fruit… apple with peanut butter, banana with some walnuts, or mango (my ultimate fav!)

Can you share something about yourself with us we may not know?

When I was 25 I lost 22lbs and my experience and learnings from that changed my life forever.

Do you have a favorite inspirational podcast or book?

I found Michelle Obama’s book very inspirational and 10/10 recommend it to everyone.

What’s your all-time favorite song to work out to?

This is hard, but anything that is super upbeat with a great tempo…I really like dj remixes when working out, keeps me wondering what’s next which in turn keeps me motivated to keep going.

Tell us how you first got interested in health and wellness.

I always knew I would do something in medicine because I found the human body very fascinating. Majored in biology in undergrad and explored various options for grad school but what really brought the point home for me was my own personal health journey. While I was never sick or diagnosed with anything, I certainly wasn’t healthy both physically and mentally.  Going through changes on my own really paved the way for my approach to health and wellness and got me more interested than ever.

What is your spirit animal and why?

Oh man, I honestly don’t know…but I can share that my favorite animal is an elephant!
