Stephanie Barron, MSN, APRN, FNP-C

Nurse Practitioner

Stephanie Barron, Georgia born and raised, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) with over 13 years of healthcare experience driving a passion for helping people achieve optimal health and well-being. Her medical journey began in the fast-paced environment of a level II trauma emergency room where she found her love of saving lives. It was also here she realized the societal need for preventive healthcare. Before taking the leap into functional medicine, she further sharpened her skills as an urgent care Family Nurse Practitioner by providing efficient and compassionate care to patients with a wide range of acute care needs. This stint only further pushed her heart towards a proactive approach to health. This experience brought her to follow her heart for saving lives proactively by embarking on this new chapter – focusing on functional medicine and empowering patients to thrive.

At our practice, Stephanie is excited to leverage her extensive experience and knowledge to create personalized treatment plans that focus on the root causes of your health concerns. She believes in a collaborative approach, working alongside you to achieve your unique health goals. She is a firm believer in the power of nutrition, fitness and preventative care. She’s here to help you not just manage your health concerns but truly thrive in your journey towards optimal well-being.

Outside the clinic, Stephanie is a devoted wife and mother to three. She enjoys cooking healthy meals, trying new restaurants, staying active and exploring new destinations with her family. She believes true health is about so much more than just the physical and cannot wait to cheer you on as you begin the transformation of becoming your best self – finding joy in the journey, not just the destination.

What are 3 ways you stay healthy with a busy schedule?

Being intentional and scheduling my time blocks to work out and be active weekly. When I am organized and balanced I find that I am much more proactive with my health.

Plan and prepare my meals and snacks in advance.

I always prioritize my sleep!

If you could only eat one cuisine for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

This is a hard one because I love so many! I love anything SPICY, so Thai or Mexican would be ideal.

What's your favorite healthy snack?

That’s a loaded question because I love snacks. Sprouted pumpkin seeds, popped water lilly seeds, avocado with bragg liquid aminos drizzled on top, edamame, any raw veggie ( love radishes, and cucumbers in particular), or wild blueberry’s if I am wanting something sweeter.

Can you share something about yourself with us we may not know?

I have a passion for mission trips and have served in Africa and Vietnam.

I helped organize a fundraiser to raise money for a little girl I met in Vietnam during a mission trip that needed open heart surgery. This surgery saved her life. This experience truly taught me that “love has no boundaries.” The healthcare system in developing countries is so different than here in the US.

Before kids I use to be really good at hula hooping and won several contests for longest time.

I can eat a fresh (raw jalapeño) without a flinch. Spicy is my jam!

I love being at the beach and floating in the ocean but I do not like touching the bottom of the ocean floor. It’s an interesting view to see how I get out in the water.

This year I started eating meat again after several years of being a vegetarian and then a few years of being a pescatarian.

Do you have a favorite inspirational podcast or book?

Huberman Lab,  The Doctors Farmacy with Mark Hyman, The Zdogg MD show, Medical Medium podcast, and I love the Little by podcast by Dr. Kristin Oja! I do enjoy reading mystery fiction books from time to time too!

What's your favorite song to work out to?

As long as the music is loud and upbeat it works for me. I also love can’t stop the feeling by Justin Timberlake.

Tell us how you first got interested in health and wellness?

For as long as I can remember I have had a passion for health. I think after my father was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer it had me on a mission to find ways to be healthier and prevent illness. Prior to my interest in a fitness routine I focused on a whole food diet. I still believe a colorful plate at every meal is a contributor to a healthy life and is something I engrain in my children regularly. They often will call me out if they don’t see a “rainbow” on our plates at meal time. I truly believe that I thrive at my best when I am focused on my personal wellness and overall health. Exercise is my outlet and brings me mental clarity and balance.

What is your spirit animal and why?

I love dolphins! They are so playful, genuine, graceful, loyal and peaceful. Their energy is so positive and comforting. I love their free-spirit.
