INTERVIEW WITH TRE

What are 3 ways you stay healthy with a busy schedule?

I would consider myself to be very time conscious, it’s the ONE thing we never get back. I aim to optimize my time by maintaining a rigid schedule and being disciplined. I still give myself grace because life happens but being time conscious has served me well. That said, my 3 ways to prioritize my health are:

(1) 60 seconds of breathwork to start and end my day. (I also use breathwork as needed throughout the day it’s extra busy).

(2) I’m a better human being when I get a sweat session in so at least 4 – 5 times a week I work out for 45 minutes. Whether that’s a strength class at STAT, jiu jitsu session at Odyssey, or walking with my wife, puppy, and daughter, or running. Best believe, I’m getting it in!

(3) Community, community, community. The human experience is rooted in being a relational being. Find, build, engage, and contribute to your community. The most fulfilled and joyful people in life have mentors, friends, or colleagues of kindred mind and spirit. It takes a village! I’m the proud founder of the self-proclaimed Good Vibe Tribe. We’re actively taking applications, and all are welcome, the only prerequisite is your good vibes.

If you could only eat one cuisine for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

PIZZA! Pizza is freaking delicious and no matter where you’re at in the world you can always find a decent pizza spot. Growing up, one of my relatives worked at Pizza Hut and would always bring home pizza!

What’s your favorite healthy snack?

My favorite healthy snack is hummus, usually with pretzels, carrots, bell pepper slices, or pita chips. I’m also ALWAYS down for the classic PB&J.

Can you share something about yourself with us we may not know?

I grew up in rural Kentucky and a huge part of my childhood was spent outside. I LOVE fishing and am very much an avid angler. Fly fishing is my absolute favorite!

Do you have a favorite inspirational podcast or book?

One of my mother’s passions that she instilled in my siblings, and I is reading. I find so much joy and inspiration in learning from the experience of others. One of my all-time favorite books that I read at least once a year is The Alchemist. It’s a classic novel on self-discovery and reiterates a major principle/truth I live by. No matter the circumstance you are always in control of your attitude and effort.

What’s your all-time favorite song to work out to?

When I’m working out, I prefer aggressive hip-hop/rap music. Spotify says my most played work out song is “No Friends in the Industry” by Drake.

Tell us how you first got interested in health and wellness.

I’ve been an athlete my entire life, so movement and exercise has always come naturally. Heart disease is also something that has plagued my family for generations, and I have every intention of breaking that cycle. I want to live as long as I possibly can, and health is true wealth.

What is your spirit animal and why?

My chosen spirit animal is the butterfly, representing profound transformations and life’s continuous metamorphosis. I firmly embrace the concept of manifestation and dedicate myself to incremental self-improvement, always striving to become “1% better every day.” In this ever-evolving existence, we are perpetually progressing or regressing; stagnation is a rarity. Butterflies also embody qualities of lightness and playfulness, which I view as essential for adapting to life’s unceasing fluctuations. I always advocate for discovering daily joy and transcending earthly concerns, prioritizing alignment in one’s emotional and spiritual well-being.
